Editing a document in DocuNote involves opening the document in the appropriate editor application, then saving the changes and checking the document back in.
To edit the document:

Make changes to the document in your editor.
After you have finished editing your document, close the editor.
If it is an Office document (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), the Office add-in can be used for completion (see more here MS Office integration - MS Office Add-in under "End editing via MS Office Add-in"
Else way close the program the standard way, chose “Save” in the popup window

If closing a program doesn’t trigger the “Check in” dialog box, you must manually force check-in via the context menu to apply the saved changes.

As administrator, you can define the default options selected in the Check in dialog box. For details, see Settings for document (Documents settings).

It is possible to configure a custom design for check-in dialog box by adding necessary fields on its metaform.
By default, a check-in metaform contains Document status and Comment fields.
To configure a custom design for the check-in dialog:
invoke the context menu and click Create;
click icon on the ribbon bar.
