Overview
If you have a lot of documents and are not sure which one contains the information you need, you can preview a document within DocuNote three places, without having to open each document in the external application.

⚠️ Please note:
- PDF documents cannot be previewed if their size exceeds 20 MB;
- PowerPoint documents preview limitation is 10 MB;
- Limitation for all other document types is 5 MB;
- There is no limitations for image size;
- Images for preview are loaded with dimensions 800x800 pixels;
- When previewing Office documents, you can activate/deactivate the PDF toolbar in the Preview pane. For details, see Explorer settings settings (452).
- The preview is cached locally for x days depending on settings number (753) here: Documents settings.

Previewing documents on Document explorer
To preview a document in the Document explorer, use the Preview button in the lower right corner of your DocuNote window.
To close the preview window, click the button once again.
Depending on the Preview mode settings (see setting (565) Preview mode here Explorer settings), you may choose among the following options:
- Vertical - activates the Preview pane on the right;
- Horizontal - activates the Preview pane at the bottom.

If the box next to the global setting “(565) Preview mode” is checked, individual user can choose the “Preview mode” under User options.

By default, the Preview mode is set to Vertical.

You can preview the following types of documents:
- Microsoft Word (.docx, .docm);
- Microsoft Excel (.xslx, .xslm);
- Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx, .pptm);
- Microsoft Project (.mpp);
- Microsoft Visio (.vsd);
- RTF;
- MSG;
- PDF;
- TXT;
- XML;
