Overview
Importing option allows you to upload to DocuNote a document which you have recently modified or any document stored on your PC. During you import of a document, it is even possible to delete the source item from the hard drive so that the document will be stored only in DocuNote.

- In the DocuNote Form-login client, the maximum file size of the uploaded document is limited to 4 Gb.

Importing a document:

Navigate to the case or document folder, and do one of the following:
- On the Ribbon bar, select New document*,* and then select Import document*.*

This method doesnāt allow you to choose from recent documents as with the next two options

Using navigation tree in the left pane, right-click a folder under the business unit, and select Create*>*Import document>Navigate this PC (Or chose one of the latest documents from the presented) from the context menu.

When inside the case or document folder, right-click in the explorer window, and select Create*>*Import document>Navigate this PC (Or chose one of the latest documents from the presented) from the context menu.

In the Import wizard dialog box, specify the relevant parameters:
- (1) Select Document category you want to associate this document with;
- (2) Select Document type you want to apply to this document;
- (3) Select Document status you want to apply to this document;
- (4) Decide on whether a document will have a draft or published version;
- This choice affects all documents being imported, unlike the choice in Change category, which only affects the selected document(s).
- (5) Click Show document to preview the selected document;
- (6) Click Change version to apply another document version to selected documents;
- Draft and published versions can also be selected here, as in (4).
- The selection is reflected in the "Version" column next to each document
- (7) Click Change category to apply another document category to selected documents.
- (8) Click the X to remove the selected document from import.
- (9) Click on Properties if you want (or it is required - see note below) to define properties that are specific to the selected document;
- (10) Click on Choose import type to choose the import type for matching documents

Double-clicking on the document will open the document properties as well.

It is possible to configure whether the fields for "Status", "Document type" and "Lock document" should be displayed in the import wizard, as well as whether a default "Document category" and/or "Document type" should be set (See setting (28), (658), (659) and (660) hereDocuments settings
Please note:
- setting "(659) Show document type during ... import..." determines whether "lock document" should be displayed.

If thisĀ icon is shown next to the document, it indicates that there are some action to take before import can be done. Ex mandatory fields that are not filled out.

If thisĀ icon is shown next to the document it indicates that all fields meet the requirements and the document is ready to be imported.

If you decide later not to import one of the documents, use Cancel button.

When all document properties are set, click either
- Import - to finish the import without doing anything further or,
- Import and delete source - to finish the import, and have the source deleted from its location

- When the document is selected in theĀ Import documents wizardĀ dialog box, pressing F2 will allow you to rename it. (Only on document can be chosen using this feature.)

Importing zip files
Documents in a zip file are automatically saved as a complete archive (zip file).
- If, in the import window, you click the plus sign next to the zip file, you have the option to import one or more of the zipped documents as individual files.
- You can choose which files should be saved as separate files by selecting those that are not to be saved and pressing "Remove".

- The complete archive (zip file) will always be imported, regardless of whether the archive is expanded to import documents separately, and whether one or more files are removed.
