Chat with AI about your documents

DocuNote 26.2 introduces AI Chat, a built-in assistant you can chat with directly in the DocuNote Windows client to ask questions, get summaries and work through the content of your documents in plain language.

Highlights:

• AI Projects: Chat is organised into AI Projects, preconfigured assistants that each have their own name, purpose and instructions, so you can set up a tailored assistant for a particular kind of work and reuse it.
• Ask about the documents you're working on: The document or documents you have open are made available to the assistant, so you can ask it to summarise, explain or answer questions about their content.
• Streaming answers with clear formatting: Answers appear as they are generated and are shown with rich formatting such as headings, lists and tables for easy reading.

Setup requirement: AI Chat requires an Azure AI Foundry LLM to be deployed and configured in the DocuNote setup before it can be used.

Add reference documents to a project

You can attach documents to an AI Project so the assistant can draw on them as background knowledge in every chat within that project.

Highlights:

• Project documents: Add PDFs, Office documents and other files to a project as reference material.
• Include exactly what you need: Each document can be individually included in or excluded from a chat with a checkbox, and a "Select all / Unselect all" option switches the whole set on or off at once.
