Overview

From DocuNote Version 6.7, it is possible to set a discard code on the "conversation" system field on case types. This allows the username and the conversations message itself to be replaced with information stating that it has been discarded.

<aside> ⚠️ Please note:

• Conversation messages cannot be restored from the discard bin.
• Discarding codes for conversation messages are associated with, and only works on, case types. </aside>

Setting up the discard code

This is done in the same place as other discard codes, under system setup > discard codes (see "Adding a new discard code" here Discarding )

• In the "New discard code" window, set the Discard Trigger to "Conversations date"

  

  • Then select the period of days, months, or years that should have passed from the current date before a Conversations message should be discarded.

Associate conversation discard code with case type

"Conversation" discard codes are associated with case types. This allows different conversation discard codes to be used for different case types.

• Access the desired case type (read about setting up case types here: Documents and Cases - Case types )
• Select the desired discard type from the drop-down menu next to "Discard conversation"

Discard effect

For all conversation messages older than the specified period, the following applies:

• The user image on the conversation message is removed
• The username on the conversation message is replaced with "User"
