Overview

This section gives you step-by-step instructions how to merge data from DocuNote database into Word and Excel.


Determine which system and custom database fields you will be using in your documents

Make plans to determine how you want the final document to look, so that you know which database fields (System field types or Custom field types ) are necessary to accomplish the merge.


Create metaform design

This step is required if you are using custom database fields for merging data.

With the help of Metaforms designer you can create custom metafields of different type and then place them on your metaform. For more information, see Metaforms designer

Follow the next steps:

  1. Click the DocuNote tab and select Metaforms designer*.*

  1. Switch to the Fields tab and create custom fields, if needed. For more information, see Custom field types.
  2. Click the Create design for documents on the ribbon bar to create a new document metaform.
