Overview

The search settings allows you to configure the DocuNote search engine.


Finding your settings

  1. Click the DocuNote tab, and then click Settings*.*
  2. In the left navigation panel under Settings, click Search*.*
  3. Check the following settings:

(337) Settings for alternative spellings when searching for archive cabinet Allows you to adjust the level of fuzziness from 1 to 10 depending on how closely you want to match term. Low level will only find the words that slightly differ from the search term, and a high level will find words that differ a lot.
(53) Settings for alternative spellings when searching for case Allows you to adjust the level of fuzziness from 1 to 10 depending on how closely you want to match term. Low level will only find the words that slightly differ from the search term, and a high level will find words that differ a lot.
(71) Settings for alternative spellings when searching for folder Allows you to adjust the level of fuzziness from 1 to 10 depending on how closely you want to match term. Low level will only find the words that slightly differ from the search term, and a high level will find words that differ a lot.
(54) Settings for alternative spellings when searching for document Allows you to adjust the level of fuzziness from 1 to 10 depending on how closely you want to match term. Low level will only find the words that slightly differ from the search term, and a high level will find words that differ a lot.
(51) Settings for alternative spellings when searching for user Allows you to adjust the level of fuzziness from 1 to 10 depending on how closely you want to match term. Low level will only find the words that slightly differ from the search term, and a high level will find words that differ a lot.
(52) Settings for alternative spellings when searching for contact Allows you to adjust the level of fuzziness from 1 to 10 depending on how closely you want to match term. Low level will only find the words that slightly differ from the search term, and a high level will find words that differ a lot.
(55) Use whole search word when searching in contacts Allows you to find a specific keyword "exactly" as you type it in the search box.
Show search preview as Allows you to changes the way how to preview the documents. For details, see ‣
Show thumbnail preview in detailed view If Yes, the thumbnails with navigation arrows are displayed in the search result entries.
(192) Maximum number of returned search results Allows you to limit the number of records the search will return.

Note: The limit works only if the search returns the items of one type (Documents, Cases or Folders). Any extra type defined in the search criterion will multiply your search results, respectively. | | (450) Enable autocomplete in the search box | If enabled, the system suggests a list of words based on first 3 typed letters. This works in Quick Search, Address book and main Search. | | (548) Use smart search when searching users | If set to Yes, the system will search user by his/her account name first and, if found, the system does not search by additional parameters any further. | | (571) Use search limitations in Address book | Activates the restrictions on a search input in the Address book. For details, about search input limitations, see ‣ | | (629) Action when one case is found by search | Defines how the found case is displayed in the search result. Possible values: Locate - displays only the found case in the search result. It is the default value. Show properties - automatically opens the Properties form of a searched case. | | (639) Include shortcuts while searching for contacts | If set to Yes, displays contacts in the search result if the contact’s shortcut location matches search criteria. It is the default value. Please note, changing the value of the setting requires reindexing.
The new value will be applicable after reindexing is finished. | | (754) Quick search default behavior | Edit your preferred search method by using search by title or by using free text. When searching by title, you only search for the title name of the case or document, whereas free text searches for everything the case may contain, including the title. |
