Overview

This step-by-step guide will show you how to update the "document properties" fields of your target document with the values from DocuNote database system records and then later insert these values within your documents.

In this example, we will use two system database fields (Document_Edited_By; Document_CreatedBy_Company) and merge their values into Author and Company fields located under standard Document Properties.

Creating Microsoft Office Profile

  1. Click the DocuNote tab, select System Setup*.*
  2. Switch to Microsoft Office Profile tab and then click the Document Profile on the ribbon bar.

Next, we need to define the relations between database records and Word standard properties. By default, two basic relations, including Author and Title properties are already set up. Thus, we need one extra relation for the Company property. The Title property, as we don't need, may be removed by clicking the Delete property.

  1. Give the new profile a name and define a new relation with Word standard property by clicking the Standard office property*.*

  1. Next to System field, select the Document_CreatedBy_Company option from the drop-down box. This is the system database field we are interested in.

  1. When done, Save your settings.

As a result, we have two relations defined between Author and Company standard office properties and system database fields of our own choice.
