Overview

This step-by-step guide will show you how to update the "document properties" fields of your target document with the values from predefined custom records and then later insert these values within your documents.

In this example, we will use three custom database fields of:

• Date type (used for date selection);
• Combo box type (used for selecting option of one's choice from the predefined list);
• Multiline text field type (used for manual text input).

Creating Metaform design

1. Click the DocuNote tab and select Metaforms designer*.*
2. Switch to the Fields tab and create all needed custom metafields. In this example, we have created three custom metafields of Date, Combo box and Multiline text field type. For more information, see Custom field types.
3. After the metafields have been created, switch to the Forms tab, and place just created metafields on the metaform.
