Creating new field

To create a new custom field:

  1. Click DocuNote, and then click Metaforms designer*.*
  2. Switch to the Fields tab.
  3. Create a new field in one of the following ways:
  4. Name the field how it will be stored in the database.
  5. Provide the field with the label. The label appears next to the field box when the field is displayed to users.
  6. Optionally, you can specify the Tooltip and the Description for the field. The tooltip is displayed when the user moves the pointer over the field.
  7. Select the Use as search criterion check box if you want build later the custom search query using this field. If selected, the field becomes available in the Add Search Criteria list in the Advanced search panel. This check box is available for some custom fields (Link, Grid, Company contact list, Formula, External lookup, Item selector).

Depending on the field type, every field may have properties that are unique to it, which you can change at any time. For details, see “Field types” (Custom field types).

Alternatively, you create the field directly on the form by clicking the "plus" icon under each field type section.
