General settings

Overview

The General settings allow you to control the overall behavior of the DocuNote client.

Finding your settings

To access General settings, follow these steps:

Click the DocuNote tab, and then click Settings*.*
In the left navigation panel under Settings, click General settings*.*
Please check the following settings:

Setting	Description
(22) Template number series	Applies predefined unique series number to templates. For details, see ‣.
(37) Number of documents and cases on start page	Sets the limit for number of documents and cases displayed on the Start page.
(39) Language	Sets the language environment in the DocuNote client for all users who have 'Use system settings' value set in 'Language' setting in User preferences or on 'Account' tab of user properties.
(46) Show status bar	Activates the status bar at the bottom of the Explorer panel.
(45) Encrypted license key	Let you update the license key. For details, see ‣.
(93) Open DNO link in the same instance of DocuNote client	Controls whether DNO shortcuts will force the new DocuNote client to start or open/locate the item in the existing client.
(125) Enable free text for date inputs	Allows to enter free text in the date picker fields. The settings affects all date picker fields including metaform fields, fields in filters and fields in search control.
(126) Week numbering rule	Defines the rule for determining the first week of the year:
• FirstDay - Indicates that the first week of the year starts on the first day of the year and ends before the following designated first day of the week.
• FirstFullWeek - Indicates that the first week of the year begins on the first occurrence of the designated first day of the week on or after the first day of the year.
• FirstFourDayWeek - Indicates that the first week of the year is the first week with four or more days before the designated first day of the week.
(167) Show confirmation message on DocuNote exit	If Yes, DocuNote client will ask the user to confirm exit if the user closes the client.
(170) Active Directory setup has priority over HD Manager	Sets the priority configuration for Home Directory. The Home Directory can be configured either via Active Directory or HD Manager.
If the setting is set to No, the value specified in HD manager (global setting) will be used.
(573) Contract management	If Yes, the word "Contract" is used instead of "Case" in all labels.
(430) Personal number service URL	The URL to run CPR integration service. Used to synchronize the external CPR database with DocuNote data.
Once the changes are saved, the contacts can be searched by their CPR record in the following fields:
• Contact Picker;
• Parties;
• Identity.

Please note:

The property CPR lookup should be set to Yes for the relevant field.
The license CPR integration must be activated to use this feature.
The user should have the Merge alias option set to Private under System setup>Address book>Address type. | | (437) Personal number service login | Login to external CPR database. | | (438) Personal number service password | Password to external CPR database. | | (434) Customize DocuNote header | Specifies the pattern formula for the custom DocuNote header. Tip: Right-click within the field and use the Insert tag context menu to apply the supported tag. | | (540) Use embedded DocuNote player | If set to Yes, the DocuNote video player is used to playback videos. If set to No, the default PC video player is used. | | (557) Permission target selection | Activates the Add users or Add groups picker or both on the Create new permission dialog box under Organizational roles. | | (771) Notify the mentioned user in DocuNote | Activates notifications in DocuNote for mentioned (with “@”) users in the system field “conversations” (see ‣ ) | | (770) Notify the mentioned user by email | Activates email notifications for mentioned (with “@”) users in the system field “conversations” (see ‣ ) | | (652) Organization sorting | Applies selected type of sorting for items located in the Organization tree and Explorer panel.
Possible values:
Alphabetic - if object name contains numbers, they are sorted alphabetically. Alphanumeric - if object name contains numbers, they are sorted as numeric values. It is the default value. | | (701) Reporting server URL | URL for alternative DocuNote server which is used for generating reports | | (759) Amount of conversation entries to load by default | Sets the default amount of conversations entries to load by default Default is 10 (Min. is 1 and Max is 100) | | Download as Zip | Please note: In Windows operating system, the maximum length for a path is defined as 260 characters. A local path is structured in the following order: drive letter, colon, backslash, name components separated by backslashes, and a terminating null character.

For your archive to comply with the mentioned limitation, DocuNote allows you to costumize the below settings. Depending on your needs and the file naming practices used in your organization, it is possible to configure the best way to shorten the names of files and folders in the ZIP so it can be succesfully extracted in Windows. | | (598) Maximum tree level | Sets the maximum allowed tree level of the archived folders hierarchy (Maximum value 10 levels). | | (593) Maximum documents in the archive | Sets the maximum allowed number of the documents in the archive (Maximum value 1,000,000,000). | | (594) Maximum total documents size (bytes) | Sets the maximum total documents size in bytes (Maximum value 10737418240 bytes/10GB). | | (595) Maximum path length | Sets the maximum path length in symbols (Default value 160). | | (596) Maximum extension size | Sets the maximum size of the file extensions in symbols (Maximum value 30). | | (597) Minimum file name size | Sets the minimum size of the file name in symbols (Maximum value 10). |
