Overview
The case names give an important information about cases. That is why the ability to make them more adaptable and reusable is extremely important. DocuNote let you control how the case's name is displayed throughout the system. For example, you can set up a formula to display the case name along with the case number.
Case name view pattern
Case name view patterns define how the case name is displayed in the explorer and other lists, and can be defined on global level and on specific case type.
- Definition of global case name view pattern is found in setting "(47) Display of case information" - see Case settings

⚠️ Please note:
- The settings applied to the case type have the higher priority and overwrite the global settings, if any.
- Changes in Case name view pattern affects both new and existing cases
- Default is Casetitel
- If only Casenumber is added, the titel will never be shown.

Case name view pattern examples
When specifying pattern formulas, you can use the following references:
- PROJECT_TITLE - the reference that is replaced with the title of the case;
- PROJECT_NUMBER - the reference that is replaced with the number of the case;
Moreover, you can use three functions in your strings:
- LEFT (length) The LEFT function returns a specified number of characters from the left side of a string;
- RIGHT (length) - The RIGHT function returns a specified number of characters from the right side of a string;
- MID (start, length) - Returns a specified number of characters from a string, where start indicates character position in string at which the part to be taken begins, and length indicates a number of characters to return.
