Overview

All documents have associated metadata - also called the document's "Properties". These are used to describe the document and can, among other things, be used as information merged into the document, depending on the document's type.

Accessing Document Properties

You can change a document's properties (metadata) at any time in the following ways:

• Select the document and choose "Properties" in the ribbon bar,

• Right-click and select "Properties" in the context menu,

• Select the document and press "ctrl+E"

Options in the Properties window

First and foremost, you can change the values in the document's property fields.

In addition, the properties window has a menu bar that allows you to perform the following actions:

• Save - Saves changes made to the document's properties
• Close - Closes the properties window (If changes have been made, a pop-up window will ask if these should be saved)
• Change document category - Allows you to switch to a different document category (depending on permissions)
