Overview
With some date/numeric metafields (namely Date, Integer and Double) you can use the format patterns. The pattern determines what the formatted value looks like.
Patterns can be defined:
- individually for each metafield on Metaform design;
- on Microsoft Office profile level (making it possible to define several patterns for the same metafield);
- in column views and search result views (only for numeric fields).

⚠️ Please note:
- Patterns defined on Microsoft Office profile level have the higher priority and overwrite the patterns defined on Metaform design, if any.
- Patterns are only applicable when merging data to Word documents.

Defining format patterns on Metaform design
While operating with metafield (Date, Double or Integer) on Metaform design, click this button next to the Pattern property. Depending of the metafield type, you will be provided with predefined patterns or will be able to create a custom pattern.

For information about pattern formats, see Pattern examples later in this manual.
Defining format patterns in Microsoft Office profile
When mapping a DocuNote metafield (Date, Double or Integer) with a document property in Microsoft Office profile, the Format field appears below the Property name box letting you choose the predefined or define the custom pattern.
